Dora has 10 years of experience as an educator, working in both the private and public school sectors, from preschool age and up. Her most significant classroom management and career experience comes from her role as a Literacy Specialist Assistant at the Wenatchee School District. Dora was born in Mexico but has lived in Wenatchee her entire life, which has shaped her perspective and commitment to this community.

She is currently enrolled at Western Governors University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. “My responsibility in continuing my studies will further enhance my ability to support my role in education”.

Outside of work and schooling, she enjoys taking afternoon naps with her cat and taking her dogs for long walks and car rides. To destress, she enjoys cross-stitching and listening to podcasts. Additionally, Dora serves as a chapter director for the Montana Bar Fairies, a nonprofit organization based in Montana. “In my previous roles, I often found it challenging to assist students and families in my community due to my limited knowledge of available resources. However, working at CIS now allows me to broaden my support and reach families I was unable to help before.
