Circumstances and barriers for students vary widely across communities. Our local approach allows us to identify the unique needs in our community and leverage resources to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

Across our community, the identified priority local needs and risk factors vary for each school, family, and individual student. There may be ample resources in a community, but rarely is there someone on the ground who is able to connect these resources with the schools and students that need them most. Through a school-based coordinator, we bring community resources into schools to empower success for all students by removing barriers for vulnerable students at risk of dropping out, keeping kids in schools and on the path to graduation and leveraging evidence, relationships and local resources to drive results.

Our Site Coordinators work with volunteers, partners and the local community to deliver a mix of the following services:

Our Services in Schools

School-based site coordinators empower students to stay in school through individualized access to needed resources, and ongoing encouragement and guidance to build confidence to reach their potential and achieve their dreams.

Young people who fall behind often stay behind. We help kids catch up and get ahead with academic support.
Providing basics like food and clothing enables young people to come to school comfortable, nourished and better prepared to learn.
We assist young people in identifying their vision for the future so they have a clear goal and motivation to overcome difficult circumstances.
Our hands-on approach helps student recognize patterns of behavior, break the cycle, and see tangible improvements.
Through before, during and after school activities, we expand young people’s understanding of what the world has to offer.
We check in with families often, and connect them with counselors, social workers and other school and community resources as needed.
We equip students with the ability to cope with the stresses and challenges of daily life by helping to develop skills in communication, decision-making, problem-solving, time management and planning.
For kids to be the best learners, they need healthy bodies and minds. We connect them to physical, dental, vision, and mental health services regardless of ability to pay.
