Gabrielle “Gabby” Howard was born in Bismarck, North Dakota.
She was raised in Kenel, South Dakota on the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation.
Gabby is proud to be Hunkpapa Lakota, Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara.
She moved to Grand Coulee, WA in April of 2019. Gabby has always wanted to create a stable support system for the children she is around. She discovered that working in a school, working with different ages ranges of kids, is something she really loves. She started working at the Nespelem School District in 2023 as a one-on-one para. In 2024, she was the front office assistant and by the end of the school year she was hired to be the assistant school counselor. During the summer of 2025 she was hired at CIS.
Gabby’s ultimate goal in life is to be the safe place she always needed, for any and all kids. She knows that all children are sacred and that they are our future leaders. “One day, these children that we teach and help raise will be not only our caretakers but also the caretakers of this land. Respect them, teach them and most importantly, protect them.”
