My name is Johanna Hernandez-Ruelas, and I am the Site Coordinator for Foothills Middle School. I was born in California but consider myself a Washingtonian as I was raised in Wenatchee WA since 1989. I come from a migrant family who migrated from California to Washington following the harvest. I have a passion for working with nonprofits and striving to help our community members. I come from a health-based background as a previous Outreach Coordinator for CVCH where we took health care to the communities, schools and H2A migrant workers. Bringing holistic care to all rural communities. With that same passion and compassion, I want to provide a full holistic care to our students and families.
I graduated from West Side High School and shortly after started my family. I had some great opportunities working in the community growing my skills and developing new skills and new insights to what our community needs. I continue to work towards making a difference in people’s lives from taking health care to people and now mentoring young students.
My family and I enjoy game nights, camping and hiking. We are a hispanic family whose roots are in Nayarit Mexico. Bilingual in English and Spanish, my parents worked hard for my sisters and I not to lose our native language. I look forward to working with our youth and making a difference in their lives as I know they will make a difference in mine.
